Tonic Fundraiser

What's up San Francisco! Hope everyone is having a great Saturday and enjoying Fleet Week and the Blue Angels...

This blog has been created for people like Ed Kriete (Pronounced: Ad-Crate) and Bonnie Senteno (pronounced: Boony-Sen-Teen-Oh) to write about recent happenings and plans for the Dolores Community Youth Alliance. Also, they want a venue where they can complain about their jobs, personal life, and anything else that is bothering them...should be a riveting dialogue! psyche.

DCYA is currently made up of a group of folks who want to have a positive impact on lives of the youth in the Mission District of San Francisco. So far we have held a few events, and created interest in a few people...but not much :/

But today I come to you a man on a mission....We didn't get into this thing and put in all of this effort to give up a quarter of the way...We will have non-profit status SOON (yea, Bonnie, get on that) and will be on our way to covering the PlayWorks bill!

Oh yeah, PlayWorks, that is the program that we brought to Edison Charter Academy, 22nd and Dolores...It is a K-8 Charter school that needs your help...PlayWorks is in the school now, which means that they have an Americorps person (person? Officer? something...) in the school providing a structured recess environment and being a mentor for the kids...Really an absolutely amazing organization, PlayWorks. Thanks Coach Stu! (he's the Americorps "soul-jah" who is doing a knock-up job!)

The board of the DCYA wants to meet you and tell you what our mission is, because without the support of the community, we are hopeless...Well, Ed is hopeless either way...haha Ed Kriete everybody, nice guy who volunteers many many hours to help Edison Charter Academy make it from one day to the next...depending on who you ask he is either a Saint or a Sinner, ask me and I'll tell you he is a little angel....

There are hundred of students at Edison who need our help, please join the Alliance at Tonic on Polk Street on November 19th, Friday, at 6pm - have a few cocktails for a good cause, and take a moment to listen to how you can help us keep PlayWorks and Coach Stu at Edison Charter Academy!
